Macrophile.com: What next?

Postby bennie » Thu Nov 18, 2004 5:02 pm

I've long had a to-do list with this place. Things to add and change and improve. I'd like to know what folks are the most interested in having locally so I can prioritize the work I am doing.

Here's your chance to sound off on what you would like to see new around here. Here is a brief description of the offered items:

Link Library A place where folks can post links to other sites and rate them as bad or good. Divided by category and interest.

Macrostat 2.0 Bigger, faster, stronger, better. I halted development on v2.0 a LONG time ago for silly reasons. The goal is to add visual references and other niceities.

Media Index A place for folks to post information on TV, Films and other media broadcasts that are macro and macriofurry in nature. Potentially moderated?

Story Library Right now authors just post whatever for comment. This should be a place for finished product to go organized by type and interests for folks to easily locate what they might like.

There are some other background things at work too. I've been asked but I don't know if I want to risk offering paid accounts on this machine. The security concerns go through the roof and I only have so much time.

Hrmm. I'm also open to suggestions. Let me know:)

I was split betwixt an updated, visual MacroStat and a story archive.

I ultimately voted for a Story Library.

1) Women are more inclined to seek their pleasures with the written word. They want to experience giants and being giant with a mental, verbal aspect. The visual comes a dim and distant second. We need to encourage more women to join us in out community.

As for myself, unabashed male that I am, a good story is worth five pics.

2) Writers are underapprecited, and their works likely to fade into nothing as websites move and messageboards progress. The ephemeral needs the protection of a permanent library.

I think the Macrostat 2.0 would be a great expansion.
Any technology sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic.
Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
Any technology, no matter how primitive, is magic to those who don't understand it.

I'm personally all for the library and V2 Macrostat.

I went for V2 ultimately ^^; I'm horrible with that kind of math and I rely on macrostat a -lot-

Story all the wayl ibrary - Artwork gets a glimpse, and disscusson a breath - but the division of stories and their like are far too vast to take in a mere moment.

I too voted for a story library, and my thoughts already have been stated far more eloquently than I could have said it myself:

It's a macro board and I'm a micro. What's your point?

Lots of adds! You know, the ones that pop up all over the screen and fill your computer up with various forms of spyware and viruses!
And fixed banners to completely irrelevant university pages that'll activate annoying sounds when the cursor touches them!
And delete that Cerb guys account, I don't like him, he scares me!

Jokes aside- but I'm still not going to make a serious decision.

You, tig, regardless of how many things you claim to be neglecting, have done (and still doing) an excellent job of keeping this site top notch.
Don't hurry to make more work for yourself because you feel you have to serve us better- We can wait patiently with the existing good stuffs =)

If anything I vote for a 'Tribute to the guy that make this site possible' page.

You da tig!

Cerb- is not getting up Bennie's ass (Could be forced there, but that's irrelevant), is just genuinely thankfull –erus
