Personally i voted for Gimp, simply because it's a great program and open source needs more credit! I do tend to use psp much more tho i even own a paid full version Oo (after years of using hacked ones i thought it -might- be time to maybe... ya know ^^;; ). So yah, i also like animation shop pro which it comes with.. which was my first animation program (besides the tiny toons movie maker for the nes xD.. so my first -real- one) and personally i think it rocks.

For some reason i've allways liked psp more than photoshop, and nowdays i'm just much better and quicker with it too ^_^

i love paintshop pro 10, ive always been able to do things there that i couldnt even get photoshop to understand . . . thos i have used photoshop for layer coloring, and i must say it handles layers very well, just too much memory is consumed and the need fer a scratch disk is pretty stupid. paintshop pro doesnt reqiure one and it runs very well memeory wise, except when alot of layers are involved . . . . . . . . . . . .

different programs do different things

I prefer Paint Tool Sai, but it's pretty meh for textures, while Photoshop excels at them

...I do think those are at the top of the food chain though. And Seren, I hear gimp is pretty alright, I tried using it once, but it was too complicated for me haha

Definitely concurring with Paint Tool SAI and PhotoShawp. I mean, have you seen frickin' Sheela on FA? Her style combined with SAI's -GORGEOUS- brush control is really something.

I take stuff into Photoshop for comic editing, mostly, to then bring into InDesign. Or if I need to get REALYL FANCY with my image editing options. Bar none I've never known a better photomanipulation program.
