The discussion of active moderation being needed has come up several times and it is quite right. If you want to review the most recent carnage:

My preference would be a minimum of 3 active mods. Or more accurately, that we have someone to cover each of the different genres: art, story and roleplay.
If you would like to put yourself forward as a candidate, please PM me and I will add you here.
For each mod you can choose to view Yes, No or Abstain. This allows you to express your opinion on all candidates. I've set the polls up so that you can change your vote if you change your mind, but once they close, it will be locked in.
Job Description
Moderate the site. Handle the community with respect. Etc. I think most of you know how this should go and have a mental picture. If people want me to do a formal write-up, on how they plan to run things, I highly encourage they post it in their own candidate thread for review.
Job Details
Here's a bit more of the details. As a moderator I am going to grant you admin access into the phpBB software. This gives you a chance to handle things like editing posts, deleting posts, banning people, etc. The actions are done through typical web interfaces, so deep technical knowledge is not required.
Banning requires a bit more work as some of the ban controls I use exist outside of phpBB. Here, having linux shell skills and a working understanding of TCP/IP is a plus. If you are at this level I'll grant you shell access.
Requirements
I'm going to need your RL contact information and you're going to get mine. You'll also get my prive contact IM and such like that.
You need to be a legal adult in your country of origin.
This basically means that if you are one of those "completely incognito" people online, you can't be a moderator. Sorry.
The Decision
As stated in the thread I referenced earlier, the popular vote is a large factor in the decision. But it is not exclusive.
These are my personal servers with other sites and users on them as well. You will possibly have access to places that can impact those other sites. So I need to trust you.
Consequently, I'm going to consider candidates on three basic areas:
- The forum's opinion based upon the votes
- Your general handling in the past of conflict on the forum
- Do I feel I can trust you.
You need to be at least "ok" in all three areas to be a mod.
