Pretty damn cool. I loved dinosaurs as a kid, but they never had anything like this. The closest I can remember was going to the Smithsonian in DC, and that pales in comparison for entertaining children. Were you affiliated with this production?

Jesus fuck, that's some of the finest robotic animation I've seen outside of Disney... And Disney ride models benefit from performing short routines and having external power sources.

Is that a cockpit under the T-rex? Is there a driver in that one?

You can find videos of them being built on youtube. It's just incredible. Some of those things are more complex than a Ferrari, albeit they don't move as fast.

From what I've seen of the aforementioned Youtube videos, it looks to often be a combination of animatronics, choreography/guys in suits, and small vehicles.

Take this video for example. The larger dinosaurs are obviously on top of some sort of small vehicle, with the wheels hidden. And if you look closely at the smaller ones, you can see the disguised legs of the person inside. The extra movements of the head, arms, and tail are either some of the most complex puppetry I've seen, or (and in my opinion, more likely) it uses animatronics. Either way, it's a fantastic feat of engineering, art, and science joining together.

Whoa!
That was damn impressive!
I don´t really know hw they moved the smaller dinos, but the big ones where driven. You can see at some points the cockpit in the base.

That's absolutely amazing!

I would love to see that live of course, but I guess I'd have to fly over to the US, right? They don't go on a world tour or something, I fear? ^^;

Quite impressive. Now all we need is a lightning to strike one of those things. We've all seen enough movies to know what that would mean...

Also, post them on YouTube or something. Benny is probably lying in a corner right now, curled up and crying.

Truth be told, I've seen this before...awhile back.

Yet it's still just as amazing looking.
